China is Angola's third largest source of direct investment

    Recently, the China-Portugal Bridge (clbrief) reported. China is the third largest source of direct investment in Angola between 2018 and 2022, according to data published by the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX).

    AIPEX data shows that between 2018 and 2022, the UAE is the largest source of direct investment in Angola, with an investment volume of about US$351.7 million, the United Kingdom is about US$283.1 million, China (mainland) is about US$225 million, and Germany is about US$225 million. $93.6 million, about $36.8 million in France, $24.5 million in Belgium, $20.5 million in Hong Kong, $19.2 million in Portugal, $12 million in Eritrea, and $10 million in Switzerland.

    Between 2018-2022, foreign direct investment intended to be carried out in Angola is about US$2.7 billion, involving 234 projects in 48 countries, AIPEX said. FDI in Angola mainly focuses on mining, finance, telecommunications, civil engineering and construction, education, healthcare, tourism, fishing, agriculture, commerce and industry.

    The data published by AIPEX includes only foreign investors investing in Angola through the agency.
