Angolan government plans to add 26 toll stations

According to Angolan media reports, the Angolan government plans to establish 26 toll stations across the country in stages, of which 6 have been approved.Its purpose is to recover domestic and international road transportation investment costs to ensure the maintenance and maintenance of road infrastructure.

 

In the first phase, the National Toll Road Vehicle Toll and Overload Special Program (PNPPV) plans to set up toll stations at the borders of the following five provinces, namely at the border of Massabi e Iema in Cabinda, the border of Nóqui e Luvo in Zaire, and the border of Moshi Barra do Kwanza toll gates have been set up on the border of Luau, Cunene, Santa Clara and Luanda.

 

According to Henriques Vitorino, deputy director of the Institute of Highway Research (INEA) of the Ministry of Transport, the above construction period will start in October 2020 and end in March 2021.The construction is carried out in two stages: the first stage is the macro construction of toll stations and obtaining the management concession of the highway engineering emergency fund (FROE); the second stage is the installation of equipment, software and operating system.

 

Henriques Vitorino, deputy director, did not disclose the total amount of input paid by the government for this project. Said that it is currently signing a contract with a consulting company to prepare for the subsequent bidding work.
