Since late August, the number of new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in African countries has dropped significantly. Countries have relaxed epidemic control measures and formulated various economic "emergency" recovery plans.

South Africa is the country with the worst new crown epidemic in Africa. The daily average number of new confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia has increased from an average of 13,000 in July to the current average of 2,000.The number of confirmed cases worldwide dropped from the fifth place to eighth. From 0:00 on September 21, South Africa's epidemic prevention level was lowered from level 2 to level 1. Except for the number of people controlled, most economic activities returned to normal. International commercial flights will be opened on October 1.

Uganda, Mauritius and other countries have also announced the opening of international commercial flights on October 1. Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Namibia, Zimbabwe and other countries have opened domestic and international flights before October 1.

The epidemic has caused significant economic losses to African countries, and the Congolese (Brazzaville) government has even encountered difficulties in paying the salaries of civil servants. There are also food crises in South Sudan, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Therefore, African countries currently regard economic recovery as their primary goal. Ghana and many other African countries announced that they would use China’s development model as a model to rapidly revitalize their economies.
