The Angola Daily reported on June 16 that the National Police seized 28 kilograms of ivory in Lubango, the capital of Huíla province, and arrested two 33-year-old and 35-year-old nationals.

In 2016, in order to express the common will to ban the ivory trade, Angola and 13 other African countries signed an elephant protection initiative, mainly by closing the local market and prohibiting the sale of ivory and ivory utensils to protect African elephants.

However, in recent years, Angola’s ivory trade and the criminal acts of foreign citizens bringing ivory products out of the country have been repeatedly banned. It is not known that this is strictly prohibited in Angola law. Once it is found, it will be criminally detained and charged with justice.

Here I also remind compatriots in Angola that they must strictly abide by the relevant laws and regulations of Angola and China, do not buy or sell ivory and other wild animal products, and actively protect the civilized image of Chinese citizens overseas.
